General questions

What are the costs of a social WiFi hotspot?

You can by your own social WiFi hotspot from € 249.99 excl. VAT

What is the difference between the social WiFi hotspots of Lincr and of other providers?

For the hotspots of other prodivers you will pay a monthly fee (average around € 20.00 excl. VAT per month) for the use of the social WiFi hotspot. You will also pay some start-up costs.

For our hotspot you pay a fixed price. We don’t bother you with a monthly fee.

Can you also set a like for WiFi access instead of a check in?

No, you can only set a Facebook check in or WiFi access code for access to your WiFi network. After check in, customers will be redirected to your Facebook page where they can like your page. A check in is a recurring event, likes are just a single event.

Can customers without a Facebook account use my social WiFi network?

Yes that is possible, there are two different ways to solve this problem:

  • Make the check in for WiFi not required.
  • Give a customer the opportunity to enter a WiFi-code instead of a check in.

You can set this at the configuration of your social WiFi hotspot.

Does a device gets a splash page after connection?

Facebook Wi-Fi will not automatically display a splash page upon initial connection to your network. It will only load the splash page when a user attempts to access a website in a browser. All websites being accessed over HTTP (Port 80) will be redirected to the splash page.

Note: If a website or app utilizes HTTPS (Port 443) or any other ports/protocols aside from HTTP, it will bypass the splash page completely. Yahoo!, Google, and Gmail are examples of websites that send all traffic over HTTPS. This is by Facebook’s design and cannot be overridden.

Can I see who likes my Facebook page?

Yes, statistics about the number of check ins, likes etc. can be found on the “Insights” tab of your Facebook admin page.

I have several branches where I want to use social WiFi, is that possible?

Yes you can. Order the right amount of WiFi hotspots (Medium or Xlarge) and make sure that a valid address is set on your Facebook page(s). We will ensure that the Facebook page(s) will be linked to all your WiFi hotspots.

When you have a different Facebook page for each branche you will have to enter a separate orders per branche.

I have a large area (terrace) and I want to offer free WiFi, is that possible?

Yes, you can order multiple social WiFi hotspots until you reach the desired number of users and range.

What is the range of the social WiFi hotspot?

The social WiFi hotspot has a maximum range of 120 meters. The range depends on the number of walls, partitions, floors, etc. The hotspot has a range up to four walls.

What are the dimensions of the social WiFi hotspot?

The dimensions of our Medium hotspot are 9,5 cm x 7,0 cm x 2,5 cm (LxWxH) and of the Xlarge hotspot 8,0 cm x 8,0 cm x 4,5 cm (LxWxH.)

Questions about installation

What do I need to install the social WiFi hotspot?

You can easily install the hotspot yourself. All you need is an Internet connection (UTP cable) with internet connection and a power socket. We will send you an installation guide.

How can I mount the social WiFi hotspot?

At the rear there are two screw holes so you can mount the hotspot on the wall or ceiling. The social WiFi hotspot Xlarge comes with extra fastening materials so you can mount it easily on your (suspended) ceiling. You can also set the hotspot on a secure place.

Can I change the settings of the hotspot myself?

Yes, go to your Facebook page, click on “Settings” and click on “Facebook Wi-Fi”.
You can change the WiFi code, sessie length and terms of use here.

You have to contact us if you would like to reconnect the hotspot to another Facebook page or change the network name. Unfortunately you can’t do it yourself.

Questions about ordering

How can I pay my order?

You can easily pay your order with iDEAL or by bank transfer. No extra fees will be charged for iDEAL payments or a bank transfer payment.

What is the delivery time of social WiFi hotspot?

Our hotspot is will be sent within 5 to 6 days. We have to set the hotspot to your needs in order to make it work on your Facebook page. Unfortunately, this takes some extra time. You can follow your order on your account on our website.
